THE ENGINEERING COLLEGE
We are very proud to announce the launch of The Engineering College. We have been working with the Birkenhead college, over the past year, to provide them with a new focused, strategic brand. Formerly known as Maritime and Engineering College North West, the rebrand signals a new name, new brand and an exciting phase in the life of this successful, established educational centre.

Our branding solution for a regional leader in education

The college commissioned us to create a brand to express its bespoke approach to training and education. Located in the heart of industrial Merseyside, The Engineering College was founded in 1998. Since then, they have trained more than 10,000 students, contributing to a vibrant, sustainable regional engineering industry.

 In 2016 Patricia Niland and her team of experts at Dune Design were selected by competitive tender to lead our business through a re-branding project. Due to the breadth, depth, detail and competitive pricing of the project proposal which was so well structured and presented it was clear from the outset that the selection of Dune Design was pretty much straightforward. The power of the new brand identity has been amazing and so well received by our staff, our Board and our clients. More importantly it has had an almost immediate impact in attracting some great new clients to the business, some of whom we were looking to work with for some time but who were not convinced by our previous brand identity.

At the start Pat’s team correctly identified our strengths and weaknesses, our brand limitations and the potential for a bigger market share through a revised brand identity. They led us through the key aspects of our brand including naming, logos and marks, signage and corporate work-wear, revisions to website and social media, and the framing of key messages to the market. All in all a tough project for Dune and ourselves but it has worked so well and so quickly once we went ‘live’ with the new brand.

Her team continue to support the business in maximising our new and very powerful brand and we would commend her team to other businesses who might feel they are stagnating and could do with a full or partial, externally driven rethink of their brand identity, and someone to hold their hand through the project.

The new brand needed to not only look impressive, it had to also demonstrate professionalism. Our solution works across a variety of materials, including stationery, print, marketing materials, website and in house presentations. Once the branding had been created, we built on the WordPress platform, www.theengineeringcollege.co.uk featuring full CMS capabilities. This enables The Engineering College to update their site and keep their clients and apprentices up-to-date.
